Finally...FINALLY...we got in all but one of the last pieces we've been waiting for. So hopefully it will all be full steam ahead!!!
Last time we looked at the kitchen I had big dreams. They looked something like this:
And if you remember, our kitchen originally looked like this:
So we hit the ground running.
Literally.
That's right, we ran around on the floor in the kitchen and found that it needed some major cosmetic work...in fact, most of our first floor's hardwoods needed a good refinishing. So we got after it!
Then during spring break when we thought we had all of our cabinets, the Dad-in-law came down and helped hang and shim and shift and attach them to the walls:
It was great fun.
Then we moved all our appliances back into place...
went to the granite place and picked out our granite...
got the granite template guy to come out to size our cuts...
had the granite installed...
Started the installation on the corbels for the breakfast bar...
And then hit that speed bump HARD. We were literally moving at warp speed and then BAM...no more movement! We had to wait for some missing pieces to come in from Home Depot and then we had to work on the yard and then we got lazy....
A month passed and I moved the kitchen table back in...we had to eat somewhere! And it's looked like this ever since...
Just waiting for us to finish her up...put on her toekicks....paint her walls....build her banquette...caulk her and give her a crown...(sigh)
It's gonna happen, people.
I just have no idea when ;)
